So, we had our first camping experience in years. We went off to Cabo Ledo, the surf beach, with a group of friends for one night of camping and beach fun. Rodrigo enjoyed cutting up firewood and building a fire with the guys while the ladies just relaxed. We had a barbeque and cooked up a feast of steaks, ribs, baked potatoes, garlic bread and more. We had the beach all to ourselves until about 10am on Saturday when a group of men arrived to do some fishing. The surf wasn’t very good, but that didn’t bother me! We did learn how to use a Trangia stove and made fried eggs, bacon and baked beans for breakfast. It was the perfect practice run for us as we are planning an 8 day road & camping trip in mid October to see the rest of Angola. We’ll be camping then because accommodation is rare and they charge no less than US$150 for a small shack with almost no amenities. We’ll let you know how it goes!!!
